After breakfast, we will venture to the medieval village of Mondavio. Close to the beautiful castle we will visit a place where cheeses are aged underground in special cellars that date back to 1500! so the cheese takes special flavors/aromas.
After this visit we drive nearby to a winery for a wine tasting. Lunch in the area.

Wednesday will begin with a drive to the hills for a truffle hunting adventure. An experienced truffle hunter and his trained scent dog will lead us through parks and forests as we search for truffles.

After our hunt, we'll visit a truffle products factory that produces truffle sauces, pasta, and other culinary delights We will enjoy lunch together with our experienced truffle hunters at a simple trattoria with traditional food and special pastas.

Back to our hotel for a rest.

In the afternoon, we will visit a Verdicchio winery located in the hills of Senigallia. The female owner also produces high-quality extra virgin olive oil.
The area is known for the very high quality of the extra virgin olive oil. We will learn from her how to recognize excellent extra virgin olive oil, which is no easy task. We will taste the olive oil as we enjoy small tastings of cheeses, salumi and other local products, as we converse about the history of extra virgin olive oil.

The vineyards are set next to an ancient 10th-century castle in tiny town with just 10 inhabitants. After our tasting, we will stop in at a tiny borough at a small and cozy trattoria for dinner.

Following our visit to the market, free time to stroll through the center of Senigallia and the weekly open air market held each Thursday. You'll enjoy the sights, sounds, and smells of this typical Italian market as you shop. At lunch time we meet again to enjoy a light lunch of typical street food: porchetta.

In the afternoon, an Italian chef will teach us recipes for an amazing dinner that you can also use to surprise your future guests upon your return home. Beautiful tour and new friends in Le Marche!

Besides unspoiled natural beauty the region is diverse with beautiful beaches and medieval hill towns.
Truffles to savor one day, grilled meats the next and of course the seafood.
Many locals I met on this trip remain friends and will always have a special place in my heart.  This unique region should not be missed and Raffa and Marcello are the ones to take you there!

Food Lover's Adventure in Le Marche

I had the privilege of traveling alone with Marcello.  He made every day very special.
Up at dawn one day  to go to the fishing pier and watch  the fishing boats return.  A  cooking lesson at Marcello’s friend’s restaurant on the beach, of fish Marcello bought that morning  right off the boat.  That was our dinner that evening, that ended up taking two evenings to eat – so many dishes that had to be tasted.

A visit to a hilltop hamlet where only 6 people live.  Marcello called out Rosa’s name as we approached her house and all her neighbors windows opened with ladies calling out to Marcello that “Rosa is home.”
An invitation into the home of the owners of our hotel for a beautiful family dinner.

Le Marche Tour with Bluone

This is my second Bluone tour, and it was fantastic! The group size was just right, and the activities varied and interesting. We were well cared for, and there was none of that "being herded around" feeling you get on some tours. In fact it didn't feel like a tour at all! I loved the opportunity to spend time with local people and learn their cuisine, cooking, wine and customs. Undiscovered Le Marche region

I want to thank you again for the wonderful trip to Le Marche, an area that is so special yet still relatively undiscovered by tourists. Le Marche, such a wonerful surprise!

Once again, Marcello and Raffaella, your attention to every detail allowed us to have an unforgettable experience. The varied scenery of the seacost, the mountains and the countryside was spectacular. Combining that with gracious hosts sharing their homes and their cooking secrets made us feel very special. With great food, great company and a very knowledgeable, attentive and entertaining guide, how could it not be a week to remember. Grazie mille!
