True “Bolognesi” know the best restaurants are in smaller places outside Bologna. Marcello and Raffaella take you to eat and drink where they go with friends---top quality places that reflect long family traditions.
Their grandparents and parents handed down traditions of down home style hospitality coming from the heart. As you bathe in Marcello and Raffaella’s warm hospitality, you feel pampered by your new friends. You experience real life with a Bologna family and their three adult children as you eat, drink, laugh and share stories around their table in their home in Bologna. You feel part of the family. You take home beautiful memories you’ll treasure forever.
Marcello and Raffaella have owned Bluone Cooking Tours, a licensed tour operator**, since 1995 and have been married since 1980. Raffaella’s passion for traditional cooking and local foods started as a child in her family’s kitchen. Marcello has worked in the travel business and traveled extensively since 1978. The perfect combination of skills and passions for their tours!
Their clients felt so enthusiastic about their extraordinary, fun adventures in Emilia-Romagna that they urged Marcello and Raffaella to create cooking, food and wine tours in other Italian regions, so they could travel with them again and again. Over the years, Marcello and Raffaella have worked with enthusiastic local people, who shared their vision and passions, in Umbria, Le Marche, Piedmont, Veneto’s Prosecco region and Puglia, and created exciting new cooking, food and wine tours.
